Questions travellers ask before using an eSIM
Check the essentials before choosing a plan, including device compatibility, installation timing and how an eSIM works alongside your usual SIM.
Global Roaming SIM provides digital travel eSIM data plans for compatible devices. We are not a mobile network operator. Connectivity is delivered through the partner networks listed or supported by each plan, and coverage or speeds can vary by location and network conditions.
Your phone or tablet must support eSIM and normally needs to be carrier-unlocked. Check the exact device model rather than only the product family, because eSIM support can differ by region. You should also have a stable internet connection while installing the profile.
Install the eSIM while you still have reliable Wi-Fi, but read the plan instructions before activating it. Some plans begin their validity when installed, while others begin when they first connect to a supported network at the destination.
Many dual-SIM phones can keep the primary SIM available for calls or messages while the eSIM handles mobile data. To avoid unexpected roaming charges, turn off data roaming and mobile-data switching for your primary SIM unless your home operator confirms those services are included.
