In short: Global Roaming SIM uses the information needed to create and protect your account, process orders and payments, deliver and manage eSIM services, provide support, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell or rent personal information.
1. Overview
Global Roaming SIM (“Global Roaming SIM”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates the globalroamingsim.com website, customer account area and related eSIM services. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, who may receive it, how long we keep it and the choices available to you.
This policy applies when you browse our website, create or use an account, purchase or manage an eSIM, contact support, submit a contact form or otherwise interact with our service. It does not govern a third party’s own website, network or service.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information
When you register or maintain an account, we may collect your first and last name, email address, encrypted password, account preferences and, if you choose to provide them or they are needed for a feature, telephone number, country and billing or profile address. We also record account verification, security and status information.
Orders, eSIMs and service information
When you place or manage an order, we process order numbers, selected destination and plan, data allowance, validity, price, currency, discounts, payment and order status, transaction references and related account balance entries.
To provide an eSIM, we may process technical identifiers and fulfilment information such as the supplier order reference, eSIM serial number, ICCID, activation or QR-code data, optional assigned telephone number, activation and expiry information, plan usage and service status. Treat your activation code and QR code as confidential and do not send them through an unsecured channel.
Payment information
Payments are processed through the payment method you select. We and the relevant payment processor may process the amount, currency, fees, exchange rate, transaction reference, status and fraud-prevention signals. Payment credentials such as card details are generally entered into or handled by the selected processor; the exact data handling depends on that processor and its privacy notice.
Support and communications
If you contact us, we collect your name, email address, subject, message, ticket history and any files you choose to attach. Support attachments may include common image and document formats. Please do not include passwords, full payment-card details or an eSIM QR code unless our support team specifically requests a secure submission.
Device, log and security information
Our servers and security features may automatically record your IP address, date and time, browser, operating system, device or session information, referring page, approximate country or city derived from an IP address, login history and actions needed to diagnose errors, prevent abuse and protect accounts.
Cookies and referral information
We use cookies or similar browser storage needed for sessions, sign-in, security, form protection, preferences and referral or promotional attribution. More detail appears in the “Cookies and similar technology” section below.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- create, verify, secure and administer customer accounts;
- accept payment, confirm orders and maintain transaction records;
- purchase, issue, activate, display, monitor and support eSIM services;
- apply an eligible referral, promotion or discount correctly;
- respond to questions, support requests, corrections and complaints;
- detect fraud, unauthorised access, automated abuse and security incidents;
- operate, troubleshoot and improve the reliability of the website and service;
- keep accounting, tax, compliance and dispute records; and
- enforce our Terms of Service and protect our users, partners and legal rights.
We do not use contact or order information for unrelated marketing without an appropriate choice or other lawful basis.
4. Legal bases for processing
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following:
- Contract: processing needed to create your account, take payment, deliver and support the eSIM or handle a refund request.
- Legitimate interests: operating and securing the service, preventing fraud, improving reliability, answering non-contractual enquiries and protecting legal claims, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation: keeping records or responding where tax, accounting, consumer, sanctions, court or regulatory law requires it.
- Consent: where we specifically ask for permission, such as for a non-essential cookie or optional communication. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
5. Cookies and similar technology
Essential cookies keep you signed in, protect forms against forgery, remember a privacy choice, preserve the contents and security of a session, and attribute a referral or promotion when you arrive through an eligible link. Some essential functionality may not work if these cookies are blocked.
At the date shown above, Global Roaming SIM does not have an active third-party analytics, behavioural advertising or live-chat integration on the website. If we introduce a non-essential analytics, advertising or similar integration, we will update this policy and provide a consent choice where required before using it.
You can remove or block cookies through your browser. Doing so may sign you out, clear a referral or promotion, or prevent account and checkout features from working correctly.
6. How information is shared
We disclose personal information only where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to:
- eSIM suppliers and connectivity partners that provision, activate, manage or troubleshoot the plan you purchase;
- payment processors and financial-service providers that authorise, settle, refund or investigate a transaction;
- hosting, infrastructure, security and communications providers that help us operate the website, send transactional messages and protect the service;
- professional advisers, auditors and insurers where needed for compliance, disputes or business administration;
- courts, regulators, law enforcement or other authorities where disclosure is legally required or necessary to protect rights and safety; and
- a successor or buyer in a genuine merger, financing, restructuring or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality and applicable law.
These recipients receive only information appropriate to their role. Third-party payment processors, eSIM suppliers and local mobile networks may also process information under their own privacy terms. We do not sell or rent personal information.
7. International data transfers
Travel connectivity is international by nature. A supplier, local network, payment provider or infrastructure provider may process information outside your country. Where transfer rules apply, we use or require an appropriate transfer mechanism, contractual protection or other safeguard recognised by applicable law. You may contact us for more information about safeguards relevant to your information.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. The period depends on the type of record, whether your account or eSIM remains active, support and security needs, supplier record availability, statutory accounting or tax duties, applicable limitation periods and the need to establish or defend legal claims.
Closing an account does not necessarily delete order, payment, fraud-prevention or support records that we must retain for law, accounting, dispute prevention or security. When information is no longer required, we delete, anonymise or securely isolate it as appropriate.
9. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against accidental loss, unauthorised access, misuse, alteration or disclosure. These include access controls, encrypted passwords, session and form protections, account security controls and operational monitoring. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
You are responsible for using a strong, unique password, protecting any two-factor authentication method you enable, keeping eSIM QR and activation details private, and notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorised account use.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have the right to request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent and complain to the data-protection authority in your country.
To exercise a right, use our Contact Us page and identify the account or email concerned. We may ask for reasonable information to verify identity and protect the account. Rights are not absolute: for example, we may keep information required for tax, fraud prevention, disputes or other legal obligations. We will explain any lawful limitation that applies.
11. Children’s privacy
Our service is intended for adults who can enter into a purchase contract. We do not knowingly offer accounts or eSIM purchases directly to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authority, contact us so we can review and take suitable action.
12. Automated decisions and fraud checks
Global Roaming SIM does not currently make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects solely through automated processing. Payment providers may perform their own automated fraud, identity or risk checks under their terms and privacy notices.
13. External links and third-party services
Our website may link to another website or service. Its operator controls its own privacy practices, and this policy does not apply once you use that third-party service. Review the relevant privacy notice before providing personal information.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our service, providers or legal duties change. The “Last updated” date records the latest revision. If a change materially affects how we use existing personal information, we will provide additional notice where applicable law requires it.
15. Contact us
For a privacy question or request, contact Global Roaming SIM through our Contact Us page. Please select the most relevant subject and use the email address associated with your account where possible. Do not include your password, full card details or eSIM QR code.
