Bulgaria's eSIM
Bulgaria offers two very different trips at low cost — summer on the Black Sea around Sunny Beach and Varna, or winter in Bansko and Borovets. Both involve transfers of two hours or more from the airport, usually pre-booked, and both benefit from live navigation once you are moving inland.
Install the profile before you fly; it activates at Sofia, Burgas or Varna. Useful on arrival — Bulgarian airport transfers are commonly arranged by message, and Sofia's metro and bus tickets are easiest handled by app.
We list 101 Bulgaria plans from $0.99 — one of our larger selections. Daily bundles suit a city stay; 15 and 30-day options fit a coastal summer or a ski week. 70 plans are continental if Greece, Romania or Turkey are also on the route.
Networks and coverage
100 of our 101 Bulgaria plans include 5G, with 4G/LTE beneath. Bulgarian mobile data is cheap and fast — Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna and Burgas all perform well, as do the Black Sea resort strips and the main ski resorts.
The Rila and Pirin mountain interiors and remote Rhodope villages are weaker. These eSIM plans provide mobile data and do not include standard calls or SMS. Keep your regular SIM available for verification codes and use internet messaging apps over data.
