Reunion's eSIM
Réunion is a French overseas department in the Indian Ocean, best known for Piton de la Fournaise — one of the world's most active volcanoes — and dramatic cirque landscapes that draw serious hikers. It is French in currency, language and telecom infrastructure, despite sitting near Mauritius and Madagascar.
Install the profile before you fly; it activates at Roland Garros Airport near Saint-Denis. Useful for hiking trail bookings, which are increasingly managed online given trail capacity limits in the cirques.
We list 26 Réunion plans from $0.95. Shorter bundles suit a focused visit; longer options fit a fuller hiking-based trip.
Networks and coverage
Réunion benefits from French/EU-standard telecom infrastructure. Saint-Denis, Saint-Paul and the main coastal towns are well covered.
The volcanic interior — Piton de la Fournaise and the cirques of Mafate, Salazie and Cilaos — has coverage at trailheads but drops significantly on longer hikes into the calderas.
