Saudi Arabia's eSIM
Saudi Arabia has opened to tourism recently, and the infrastructure for visitors is newer than the destinations themselves. AlUla, Diriyah and the Red Sea developments are all managed through booking platforms, entry to some sites is timed, and distances between cities are covered by air or the Haramain high-speed rail.
Install the profile before you fly; it activates at Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam. Useful on arrival, since Saudi ride-hailing is the standard way to move within cities and the apps handle the addressing that street signs often do not.
We list 60 Saudi Arabia plans from $2.25. Shorter bundles suit a business trip; longer options fit a route including AlUla and the Hejaz. Note that some VoIP calling apps have historically been restricted on Saudi networks.
Networks and coverage
59 of our 60 Saudi Arabia plans include 5G, and Saudi networks are fast and heavily invested — Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Mecca all perform strongly, as does the Haramain rail corridor.
The Empty Quarter and remote desert routes have essentially no coverage. These eSIM plans provide mobile data and do not include standard calls or SMS. Keep your regular SIM available for verification codes and use internet messaging apps over data. Note that Mecca and Medina have access restrictions for non-Muslims that are unrelated to connectivity.
