South Korea's eSIM
South Korea has some of the fastest and most complete mobile coverage in the world, and Korean travel assumes you are using it. Naver Map outperforms Google Maps locally, subway transfers are timed to the second, and restaurant ordering is increasingly by tablet or QR.
Install the profile before departure; it activates at Incheon, Gimpo or Gimhae. Useful right away — the Incheon airport rail link and limousine buses go to different parts of Seoul, and picking wrong costs an hour.
We list 91 South Korea plans from $0.95. Daily bundles suit a Seoul city break; 15 and 30-day options fit a wider route to Busan, Gyeongju or Jeju. 43 plans are continental if Japan or Taiwan follow on the same trip.
Networks and coverage
81 of our 91 South Korea plans include 5G, and Korean networks routinely deliver speeds well above European averages. Coverage is effectively total: subway tunnels, KTX high-speed rail, mountain national parks and Jeju island all perform strongly.
These eSIM plans provide mobile data and do not include standard calls or SMS. Keep your regular SIM available for verification codes and use internet messaging apps over data. Note that Korean services often require a local phone number for verification, which a travel eSIM does not provide — plan around that for banking or delivery apps. 55 plans are reloadable.
